    My Rating – 5/10

Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence play Jacob, Anna and Sam in Drake Doremus’ ‘Like Crazy’.

Anna, a British girl studying in Los Angeles, falls in love with an American boy named Jacob. Anna’s student visa expires at the end of the summer term. At this point any sensible couple in love who would want their relationship to last long would have probably thought of getting the money and documents for Anna to extend her stay at Los Angeles or for Jacob to move to England with Anna. Some might even adopt long distance. But instead they decide to break the conventions and stay through the summer to enjoy crazy summer holiday filled with love, laughter and never ending sex.Image

Anna ends up leaving to London and this marks the beginning of a lot of tears for both Anna and Jacob. It’s okay to be in love but it’s not okay to be carefree about things that are meant to taken care of very well. Anna and Jacob find it very hard to keep their
relationship clear and stable, suffering due to their immature decisions. They seem to treat their love like like a summer fling.

Jacob gets into a relationship with Sam (Jennifer Lawrence), the assistant at the furniture design workshop that Jacob sets up. Sam, knowing well about Jacob’s history with Anna, somehow manages to be with him. Meanwhile, Anna gets into a relationship with her neighbor. These relationships that Anna and Jacob get into make them realize how good their relationship was between them. They end up spending 7 years with and away from each other, messing up all balance that the relationship once had for a brief time.

The part that shocked me was that these characters of Anna and Jacob actually decided to stop caring about the future of their relationship to live out the present. They ended up making a summer full of amazing memories, which they have to cry over for the rest of their lives.

I felt that cast for the film was excellent. The characters of Anna and Jacob appeared to have a great chemistry between them. Felicity Jones was excellent throughout the film and Jennifer Lawrence was nothing less.

While the film had a great casting, the story is highly weird. They fall in love, they move away, they miss each other, date other people, miss each other more and struggle with that feeling for the rest of their lives. All of this just because they felt they would miss each other through a few months through the summer.

This film is an example that certain relationships are meant to last so you do your best to make them last. You handle it with care because if you don’t, it will break and you will end up feeling bad for a very long time.
